Finally Samhain

I do hope that the new year is going to better than the last one! It's not off to a very good start as I have to take my car in for its MOT at 12.30 this afternoon... dreading that, I really am, I just have a terrible feeling that it will fail! But then I think that every year, and it has only failed once in five years (last year).

I really should stop being so pessimistic about things... but then if I prepare for the worst I am rarely shocked by bad news, so maybe it's my way of protecting myself from undue harm (weird, but it seems to work for me, LOL!!)


I had a migraine yesterday, which is no doubt because of all of the subconscious stress I've been under this last week... what with not being paid, having to work when I thought I'd got a week off, worrying about the car, the interview that I was dreading and also the MOT and not being able to pay the mortgage yet (as I haven't been paid) and all in all it's not been a good week for me here (which is an understatement to say the least!!)

Anyway... I'm going to see about having a nice long sleep, and I'm hopefully not going to be getting up before about 11am in the morning... the garage is only a ten minute walk away, so takes about two minutes in the car... it's just the waiting and not knowing that bothers me... I can usually handle most things, once I know what they are, hehehe!

I hate migraines

They are really nasty, and I hate having one. I had one yesterday evening and I had to go to bed at 7pm.

First off I get blind spots, which are really scary as I end up being blind in my focusing area (so that whatever I look at disappears from view). Then after that passes I get the thumping pain and the beating of my own heart pounding in my ears! The thing that I hate the most though is the feeling sick...I hate anything to do with sick, so for me to feel sick is not a good thing. Not nice, at all.

I took two nurofen as soon as the blind spots started, had a quick bite to eat and then went to bed. Another thing that I hate about them is the way that they always seem to linger around for a couple of days...I always have a kind of head-full-of-cotton-wool feeling the following day, and if I make a sudden move or bend over or straighten up to fast I get a mini headache and pain between the temples!!

The only good thing was I was up at 6am this morning, so I got to see the early morning that I don't usually see. It was really nice at 6 this morning...the birds were singing, the motorway at the end of the garden was quiet and I got to eat my breakfast in peace. It was really strange eating at 7am, though, I'm not used to doing that.

I can see how many people are early birds, the world seems peaceful in the early morning, hushed and mellow and somehow fresh and clean, there's none of the panic and rush of later in the day (well it seems like that for me, anyway, lol).

I'm a nightowl, well I used to be...these days I just seem to be really tired most of the time, so spend more of my time sleeping. I used to wake up at around 10pm, these days I seem to feel tired then...maybe I'm changing from a night owl to an early bird...who knows, lol.
