I am so dopey sometimes

Mary Travers of the folk group, Peter, Paul and Mary died last week... and I said that I could remember hearing them sing Puff the Magic Dragon when I was a kid and thinking it was a sad little song.

Stupid me, I just went and looked up the lyrics and I was right, it is a sad song... in fact I've just cried my eyes out! How soft am I?!

It was the last two verses that got me... it wasn't Jackie Paper dying, it was the thought of the dragon all alone in his cave that upset me (and is upsetting me now). To have a best friend and then to lose them, that's probably what set me off.

I'm going to have to go and do something else, the more I think about it, the more upset it makes me (daft moo!)
