The utter stupidity of internet dating sites!!

I know, I know... what the hell am I thinking joining them? Well, I figured it would be a fairly pain-free way of meeting people. Not so pain-free on the bank account!

I have no problem in paying for services rendered, I really haven't... but all of these sites have unwritten rules about certain things, and one of those things is that you cannot read any private message sent to you by others unless you join!! WHY?! If I want to send messages to others, fair enough, I'll cough up the cash, but I shouldn't have to pay to read stuff from other people that have obviously already paid!! At one site I have over twenty messages from a host of guys (some of them pretty damn cute!!) and I can't respond to any of them... unless I pay £19.95 for one month! I hate for people to think I'm rude, and when I updated my profile to tell people that I can't read what they send me, my profile was rejected!!

Another site I did join, purely because it is geared towards larger ladies and the men who find them attractive, plus it was only £10 for a month, I didn't mind that so much, per week it's just like buying a magazine. But at the other site, 11 guys have viewed my profile in the past day and I can get in contact with none of them... and I think that is so very wrong!!

I know that it's all about making money, and I shouldn't be at all surprised. I just hate for people to think I'm some kind of rude cow, because I'm not... I'll talk to anyone online, I like talking to people, so to have that taken away from me purely because I won't pay for it annoys the hell out of me!!
