One reason why I think I'm destined to be single.

I have to sleep alone or I don't sleep at all!

I currently have Sissy in the bed beside me. Our whole house of five has a cold of some sort, and Pingu's snoring keeps waking Sissy so I offered her my bed to save her having to sleep on the sofa in the front room. I haven't shared my bed with her since my Nana was alive five years ago (and we had no spare rooms so had to share one) and I have to say that having someone else here is freaking me out completely!

Usually it's just me and the cat, and feeling someone else moving and hearing breathing/snoring has seen me have the sum total of about three hours sleep all night. I can't help it, I just have to sleep alone. I like to sprawl about when I sleep, and I've been known to toss and turn about throughout the night. I'm not a small person so I need a fair amount of room to do that. Being confined to one side of my five foot wide bed is constricting to say the least and positively imprisoning at worst.

Maybe it is also to do with the fact that I'm sleeping on the "wrong side" of the bed. I prefer the right side (when you're laying in bed) or the left side when you stand at the foot of the bed and face the head end. I'm on the opposite side as Sissy makes frequent trips to the loo and I don't, so I got the side that is impossible to get out of!

I've been watching the sunrise for about an hour now and have seen the sky go through numerous shades from deep midnight blue to the soft aquamarine tinged with yellow that it is now. I haven't watched the sun come up for months, and although I'm a total night owl I can appreciate the world when the day is new and fresh, before everyone else wakes up and the quiet expectation and purity of the new day is shattered by noise, pollution and the general ugliness of humanity.
