I'm a 40 year old pagan and I live with my parents and two cats in South East London, UK.

I've been Pagan for over sixteen years and despite a little blip in faith a few years ago (where I tried Christianity and found it not for me) I've been very happy and secure in my path.

I'm very much drawn to the darker side of life, hence my identifying as Goth. I find beauty in the weird and the macabre, in the strange and the unusual. I always wear black as I see it as a colour of remembrance and I draw solace from it (the catalyst for this was the death of my beloved Grandmother on December 26th 2006).

I love reading, writing (both short stories and poetry), blogging, photography, gardening, cookery, sleeping, watching tv, and am far too addicted to the internet!

I love music and some of my favourite bands/artists are: The Cure, HIM, Type O Negative, The Mission, Damh the Bard, Inkubus Sukkubus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Sisters of Mercy, The March Violets, The Carpenters (I can sing her songs as I have a low voice, too), Ozzy Osbourne, plus the classical composers Saint-Saens, Mussorgsky, Wagner and Tchaikovsky (to name but a few). I also adore Scooby Doo.

I have many food intolerances and often write about them... onions and garlic (alliums), eggs, dairy products, bananas and a few others that spring up on occasion. It makes meal times something of a challenge, and sometimes a painful one, but I'm learning to check and double check things, plus it forces me to use my ingenuity to find alternatives to the foods I used to eat without thinking. Being morbidly obese it's also helping me to lose weight (which is never a bad thing LOL!) I have recently become vegan, and have been attempting to reintroduce some of the foods that caused me trouble, so far grapes and corn have been fairly successful).

I'm attempting to grow my hair. It's currently about 17-18 inches long (it's difficult to measure because of the natural wave/curl). The lack of nutrients due to the food intolerances has seen my hair thin quite a bit over the last few years. Tests have ruled out thyroid/medical problems, so it's just something I'm going to have to deal with. Some days it makes me feel a bit sad when I see so little on my scalp, but compared to some I have more than enough... and regular vitamin supplements and coconut oil treatments help me to keep what I have. I shouldn't grumble really.
