Sissy is back...

... and already we've run out of tuna and are almost out of loo roll - she's been back two days!! LOL! She's now out trying to join our local Blockbuster as she and Pingu want to watch Sherlock Holmes (and heaven forbid that they should WAIT!!)

She's also looking into finishing her degree up here, and leaving Brighton... she's sick of it down there, and she's also sick of the girls she's living with - all they seem to do is argue and her uni work is suffering as a result (what's the point of doing all this if she doesn't get the degree that she's hoping for because the stress of being in a place she hates, with people she hates stops her from reaching that goal?)

The only problem with her being back home is that the noise increases, Pingu would probably move in here to be with her (the plus side being they would pay rent, they've already agreed to doing that)... and my craft life would have to become more secretive - Sissy is very scornful of all things religious and I wouldn't want to be caught doing things that I would have to explain to people that wouldn't (or don't want to try to) understand.

It wouldn't be until the end of June, though, as that is when Sissy has to leave her current address and come back here (at least for the summer holidays, even if she then has to find somewhere else down there if she can't switch courses to up here).

It's a beautiful day here... a bit too beautiful for my liking, LOL! The sun is too bright, the temperature is too hot and I spent the morning stuck in my local branch of M&S with my Dad and 87 year old Nana (she was buying new bras and the lingerie department was so hot I thought I was going to pass out!! I managed to get a leaflet and use it as a fan, and it really helped)... that was after we had to go to the council offices to see about someone coming to fix her hot water, which has been off for three days - the earliest it can be sorted is Monday morning - oops!

Anyway... I suppose that wearing head to toe black on the hottest and sunniest day of the year, was a mistake... but being goth I really have no other colour of clothes that are comfortable (it's not about being cool, it about being me!)... so black it is, and I shall just have to suffer, hehe. I must remember to carry a small hand-held fan and a drink in future, maybe a parasol of some sort (if I can find one) - at least it would stop me feeling so hot!

I'm really tired now... the sun always makes me sleepy (not that it needed much, I was tired before I even started! Hahaha)

Why does the scent of lilies make me sleepy?

I am sat here, with the heady smell of lilies wafting all around me, and I am so incredibly sleepy... I can barely keep my eyes open!

(The lilies in question are in a bouquet that Josh's Dad brought round as an apology from Josh for biting Mum last week... wow, eight days ago now... time flies!)

Lilies are one of my favourite flowers... I adore their scent, and actually I have three pots of lily bulbs that all take their turn in sitting on the kitchen table during the summer... just so that I can be surrounded by their scent.

I just wonder why I always seems to get sleepy around them...

I feel dreadful

Something I ate last night did not agree with me in any way... I can't think what it could be, though! I've eaten nothing that I haven't had before (with no problems)... the only thing I ate that is not on my "normal" diet (more of a treat when we can afford it) was three huge organic Portobello mushrooms filled with cheese - and I made them myself (not shop bought filled mushrooms)... I just don't understand how I feel exactly how I would feel had I eaten onions, only I have not had any onions! The last time I felt this bad was last Tuesday when I had a shop-made pasta sauce (that contained onions).

I'm just so confused about my stupid stomach now... is it onions? Is it mushrooms? Is it wheat? Is it yeast? Is it lactose? Who the hell knows? Because I sure as hell don't **sigh** I seem to have reacted against all of them in the past!!

I'm also so tired and listless that it's even a huge effort to type this! Maybe the antihistamine I took earlier is the reason... knowing my luck lately I'm in the tiny percent that suffer from bad reactions (non-drowsy, my arse!)... nothing would surprise me anymore, lol! Out of my entire family, I'm the one that is allergic to the 20th century "wonder drug", Penicillin, so there you go... I always have been the awkward one.

It's a beautiful day here and apart from watering some of my potted plants in the garden I came straight back indoors, I couldn't stay out there. It was so bright and I could see so many jobs that needed doing that I turned my back in hope that the "garden elves" will help me out (little buggers never have in the past, but I live in hope, hehe).

I hate this lethargy that I seem to have all the time lately, really stops me from doing so many things that I used to do... I was planning to go to the woods today, get back to nature and take some photos, but I just can't seem to muster the energy to do it **sigh** They are only a ten minute drive away, too, and somewhere, deep in my psyche, I can feel them calling to me and I can't ignore it for much longer as the feeling is getting stronger by the day! I really should take advantage of my current unemployment to get out there and heed the call I keep getting... hopefully tomorrow will be better (at least my stomach problems should be gone by then, anyway).

I went upstairs atfter I wrote the entry below this one...

... and I cried my eyes out. I cried so much that in the end I cried myself to sleep. Silly, I know, but I couldn't stop myself.

I do feel better now, but I have a feeling that it wouldn't take much to make me feel sad again.

Anyway... roll on tomorrow (or later today, I should say). I just really hope that Dad is not going to try and come with us, but I have a nasty feeling that he will! The stubborn old git just will not accept his limitations! That would look really good, wouldn't it, we are going to try and get a car for a man that cannot walk more than 300 yards, and the stubborn old git is going to try (and no doubt knacker himself in the process) by coming with us, thereby seemingly degating the claim that makes us eligible for the car in the first place! That only makes logical sense in my father's brain, hehe.

I'm hoping that he'll still be asleep when we leave, but knowing him, he'll be awake.

I am talking to him now, and using my (hopefully successful) powers of persuasion to get him to stay here... fingers crossed with that one... I'd probably have more luck trying to change a piece of cheese into a diamond! LOL!

I think I may have gotten through to him (although it will probably have made no difference come the morning... I may just have to get the pickaxe handle ready and give him a whop on the noggin with it if he tries to come with us! If you hear a man scream in pain, that'll be my Dad ;) )

I am so tired... again!

Did the school run on the bus (way there) and on foot (way home) earlier today. Now I am the worlds' laziest person, so for me to walk a mile and a half in one go is a fairly big deal... especially with a seven and four year old as well. My feet and back hurt, but apart from that I don't feel too bad. I just wish that I could get rid of this head cold!

I have laryngitis now. I sounded like a teenaged boy with a breaking voice earlier today, but as time is going on I am getting more and more croaky and my ability to speak is decreasing. Would never be surprised if I don't lose my voice entirely in the very near future (not a good thing to happen when you look after kids and need to be able to do things like talk to them!!) Fortunately I don't have a sore throat, though, so at least I don't have that extra pain.

All I really want to do is go to bed, but if I go now I will be up at four in the morning, so I'll have to hang it out until at least 11pm (the past has shown that my going to bed any earlier than 11pm, except in the case of severe illness, just wakes me up far too early in the morning and by the afternoon school run I'm asleep on my feet... which is not good when I have to walk on them LOL!)

Mum phoned the mechanic that came round last time (Lee) and he is coming to have a look at "The-Embarrassing-Mobile" on Saturday. Fingers crossed for good news!

Happy yet so very sleepy

I've have such a headache today... I've had it all day and no amount of painkillers has been able to shift it :(

It was probably all of the driving I did yesterday... five hours solid behind the wheel and most of it on roads that were dark (and I mean dark, no lights save for my own headlights)... plus on the way back from Brighton after dropping Sissy off I got lost, again! I ended coming home on the A24 which is a lovely road (dark, of course) but I really enjoyed driving it... I must see about finding it again in daylight, I think it would be a beautiful drive if I could actually see it, LOL!! At one point the road was almost a tunnel of trees, albeit skeletal branches now that the leaves have gone.

I must have a look in the map book and see if I can find the name of the village where we stopped and had a bite to eat, I would love to go back there again one day soon.

I'm really tired and I think that I'm going to head off to bed now (incredibly early night for me, usually I'm not in bed before 1am)... I am just having great trouble in keeping my eyes open, though.

I am so tired!

Still, I suppose driving to Brighton and back in the pouring rain, then getting lost twice on the way back, might explain that... first time I took the wrong turn out of Brighton and ended up on the A27 down past Lancing (which is on the way to Portsmouth! nowhere near London, lol opposite direction in fact and the furthest south I've ever driven) and the second time I missed the turn off for the A2 and ended up almost crossing the Dartford Toll Tunnel (but managed to turn around in time!)

All told I must have driven about four straight hours (most of them in dreadful visability, with such bad spray it looked like fog!) and adding the "detours" to the total milage I must have done close to 200 miles!! Add to that a school run this afternoon, and also all of the kids being nightmares... two wouldn't do as they were told, one was just having a ball encouraging those two, and the other one started crying because she didn't want to watch Tom and Jerry, or even listen to it, when it was time for someone else to have their choice of programme on! (we have the tv watched in turns, one person watches what they like and all watch that, then it's someone else's turn... none of them like sharing anything, but that's just tough, if they don't share it, they don't watch any at all!!)

Anyway... I am now waiting for the huge rice pudding that I've put in the oven to turn out a total disaster to just put the cherry on the top of a fairly crap day, LOLOLOL!!!

Such a great display this year

That was worth going out for... even though the fireworks started 15 minutes late and I forgot to take my asthma pump with me (so my chest was really tight on the walk up). We (Mum and I) stood in a different place this year as a friend of ours said that the let-off site had been moved from last year... turned out that we were standing virtually underneath the fireworks, and a couple of times we got hit with little pieces of dead firework... and I have some sort of grey stuff all over my black top that wasn't there when I left the house (do hope it washes off, this top is new, hehe).

I'm now really sleepy as I had a massive jacket potato when I came home, and now I can't stop yawning, LOL!

I re-dyed my hair tonight, even though I said to myself I wasn't going to... the thing with dying your hair black, though, is that once you do it, you can't change the colour unless you go to a salon and have it bleached to within an inch of it's life... so I am going to have to have black hair for the foreseeable future... either that or I have to cut it all off and start again from about an inch long! I really wish I'd never dyed it with that semi-permanent in the first place... it was a total liar and that first semi-perm black left a dreadful red colour behind and didn't wash out at all so I was forced to dye it permanently black to get rid of it, lol! Oh well, as long as my hair stays soft enough for my liking it will be ok... at least I don't have the nasty grey/white hair anymore, although I do still think that having one stripe of white in the front, a la Lily Munster, would look very cool, but then I'm fairly weird that way HAHAHA!!
